KEFFESO Host Communities Development Trust (KHCDT)

Overview of Programs

In line with  the Sustainable development Goals our  key focus areas are Education, Health and Enterprise Development without prejudice to infrastructural development.

Education Intervention Programs

Provision of Manpower :The KEFFESO communities are surrounded by water which limits means of accessibility to water transport only. Inadvertently, location factor is a major constraint to social services delivery in the area. Baseline survey studies  in the 8 communities in year 2017,  revealed an alarming deterioration in public primary education. Most teachers posted to teach in these communities exhibit nonchalance to duty as evidenced by irregular attendance at schools, outright absenteeism and lack of commitment and dedication.  The result is that about 90-95% of the primary school leavers from the communities could not pass competitive entrance examination to secondary schools either in or outside the state year-in-year-out to date. The lack of committed and dedicated manpower made the communities to proffer a probable solution by sourcing for “teachers” locally from within the communities to fill the critical gap. The KHCDT currently employs 86 community persons in the education sector and provides incentives for 110 government teachers to motivate them.
